Writing tool, composition notebook, highlighters, scientific
calculator and if you have your own device please bring it everyday

Composition Notebooks: Students
take notes and/or do classroom activities in their own composition notebooks.
Notebooks may be submitted for grading at any point during the year. Notebook grades
would count in the work category.
Group Class Work: Students
will complete group work, in class, every day. Homework will be assigned every
night but is not mandatory and does not factor into the students grade.
Tests: Student progress will be
formally assessed through Chapter tests. RETAKES ARE NOT PERMITTED. Make-ups
may be permitted with proof of excused absence up until one week prior to
progress report grade reporting, and must be arranged with the teacher.
Quizzes: Students will take frequent
daily quizzes at the end of class to quickly asses understanding, and
occasional major quizzes may be given. Students can submit corrected major quizzes
using the three-column format for a higher quiz grade. Corrections will be
accepted up until one week prior to progress report grade reporting. Make-ups
for MAJOR QUIZZES ONLY may be permitted with proof of excused absence up until
one week prior to progress report grade reporting, and must be arrange with the
teacher.
Classroom Policies:
Attendance: Students
are required to attend class every day.
A student is tardy if they are not in their assigned seat with notebook opened
when the bell rings.
Electronics: Electronics
are NOT PERMITTED inside the classroom, unless specifically told to bring/use
them for math related work. All visible devices, including ear buds, will be given
a warning first, then confiscated until the end of the period. Cell phones, may
be used as a calculator when given permission.
Engagement: Students are expected to
participate in all classroom activities and give full effort on all
assignments. Failure to complete required assignments will result in after school
and/or lunchtime detention.
